MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Beale Avenue Landing, the $43 million river cruise dock that opened in downtown Memphis in 2014 after a decade of scheduling and construction, is undergoing renovations to replace a cracked concrete façade.
Memphis River Parks Partnership declared Tuesday that demolition is going on now, with development of a new façade anticipated by December. The previous concrete construction, which supports a grass-lined roof, experienced developed cracks.
“A creating that was completed that not too long ago should really not have these concerns,” stated George Abbot, external affairs director with the partnership.
The full price tag of the project is $1.1 million.
Abbott said MRPP will make up component of that sum through parking service fees created at two downtown lots.

The site at Riverside and Beale features as a landing for American Queen Steamboat Business and American Cruise Lines, and there is a readers center inside of the facility. A prepared restaurant web page has remained vacant because 2018.
During design, cruise ships will continue on to dock there, but the facility will be closed to party rentals.
